ROD WOODEN is originally from Norfolk, via Newcastle, and moved to Colombia in 2000, where he now works in the city of Cali with his own group of actors, El Grupo de Madera. HERE ON DARK EARTH is his most recent play. Other plays include his award-winning YOUR HOME IN THE WEST (John Whiting and Mobil International awards), several productions including Royal Exchange Manchester and Steppenwolf Theatre Chicago; HIGH BRAVE BOY (Northern Stage and Theatre Studio, New York); SMOKE (Manchester Royal Exchange and Amsterdam Toneelschool); an adaptation of MOBY DICK (RSC, The Other Place, Stratford and The Barbican, London); ANTI/GONE (RSC Education Department); LEVIATHAN (Mercury Theatre Colchester); and THE LENINGRAD SIEGE, a translation of the Spanish play by Jose Sanchis Sinisterra (Tron Theatre Glasgow and Wilton’s Music Hall, London).
