CHRISTINA BALIT (Illustrator/Writer) is a graduate of both the Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art. As illustrator and author, Christina’s titles include her recently published and acclaimed THE BOY WHO BECAME QUEEN — ‘A beautiful, enchanting story of a boy’s journey from rags to theatre riches.’ (Sir Derek Jacobi) — as well as THE CORINTHIAN GIRL, ESCAPE FROM POMPEII and ATLANTIS – THE LEGEND OF THE LOST CITY.
Christina’s illustrated books include Michael Morpurgo’s BLODIN THE BEAST, THE LION ILLUSTRATED BIBLE, and ZOO IN THE SKY, as well as five treasury anthologies for National Geographic: TREASURY OF GREEK MYTHOLOGY, TREASURY OF EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY, TREASURY OF NORSE MYTHOLOGY, TREASURY OF ARABIAN NIGHTS, and TREASURY OF MAGICAL TALES FROM AROUND THE WORLD.
Her stageplays include WOMAN WITH UPTURNED SKIRT, about the painter Egon Schiele, THE SENTENCE, about the Armenian genocide (both produced in London), and an audio drama, NEEDLE, about the construction of the Bayeux Tapestry (winner of the Brave New Roles Award, broadcast on BBC Radio 4).
