Olivier award-winning OperaUpClose (Artistic Director ROBIN NORTON-HALE) partners with Gallions Primary School in Newham to create a new opera for 3-5-year-olds, based on Jill Murphy’s much-loved picture book which has been delighting families for generations. This new opera has been created through a series of music-making workshops with Reception Classes at Gallions Primary School, putting the children at the centre of the development process.
Mr Bear can’t sleep. Mrs Bear is snoring. So he goes to sleep in Baby Bear’s room. But Baby Bear is pretending to be an aeroplane. So he goes to sleep in the living room…
PEACE AT LAST premiered at Gallions’ Summer Festival in July 2019 and will follow with a national tour to approx. 70 schools and theatres, delivering performances to over 6000 children.
